Hello,

My name is Dustin Horvath; I am the owner and founder of PCH Consulting, a business focused on helping students with disabilities (and their families) make sense of the transition process following high school. I bring with me years of experience in higher education, both as a student (undergraduate/graduate) and a professional.

Many, many years ago, I was going into my senior year of high school, entirely unsure of what to do next. I didn't see college as an option because I wasn't being engaged in discussions about college, nor was I putting any effort into planning or researching. I guess I assumed the lack of discussion meant I wasn't going to college... perhaps others knew something I didn't? However, I did learn about a small liberal arts college with a support program and decided to give it a shot and apply to both the College and the program. To my surprise, I was accepted into both; I started to feel a sense of purpose when thinking about my future.

I think I got a little lucky that I applied when I did and was able to find a support program that was a good fit; however, many young people (and their parents) may feel directionless and overwhelmed. I can relate!

My purpose is not to be another "cook" in your educational "kitchen." I want to provide meaningful support above what you are already getting in your educational environment. At times it can seem like too many (or too few) people are voicing their ideas. I want to hear what YOU, the student, have to say about your interests, passions, and goals for your future. There are no bad ideas! However, you will need a plan and the flexibility to make adjustments when necessary.

My passion in life is helping others. It's why I sought out a degree in education and a Master's in school counseling. I enjoy working with enthusiastic people who might need a little help sorting things out. I had that same help so I want to continue that line of generativity.

Perhaps you aren't ready to schedule a time to meet with me - I get it! Life is busy, and your time is important. However, please remember that even just an hour of your day, once a week, can bring about so much important change.

I invite you to subscribe to my weekly newsletter. I set a goal for myself to provide subscribers with relatable content once a week for free. I promise not to inundate you with extra emails or messages.

In Closing:

I will leave you with a reminder - if you view your time as important with other people, please try to maintain that same expectation of yourself.

Again, I encourage you to subscribe, and please let me know what topics you would like to learn more about. Growth is a two-way street.
